Ali Samadpour on Advertising for Artists, Social Media & Merchandise (Ep.59)

Updated: May 19

Two years after graduating from college, Ali Samadpour stepped into Fame House (Universal) as a marketer and began working with top tier artists including Richie Hawtin, DJ Shadow and Victor Calderone. After finding his feet and specialism in music marketing, he took the leap of faith into the music entrepreneurship world by founding Prescient Digital, a boutique music and entertainment agency working from Washington, DC. You’ll certainly know some of their clients who include Loco Dice, Pan Pot and SXM festival. Today while also running Prescient Digital, he’s recently co-founded Modular Merch; a full service merchandising company aimed at the dance music industry.

Ali has become a specialist in music marketing, maximising the revenue, growth and brand authority of his clients in the digital age, of which are both the creme de la creme of artists and festivals. In today's podcast, we spear-head the current climate of the industry and how to be adaptable as an artist. Ali also answers the question; "Streaming vs Merchandise; what's the biggest moneymaker?" while also offering serious nuggets on advertising for artists.
