From starting off her career in the publishing business to now being the Managing Director of Sound City (UK Festival Award for Best Festival for Emerging Talent), in Your Music Industry episode 3, we sat down with Becky Ayres to explore her story with Sound City along with her thoughts on Event Management and Education.

A little bit about Becky...
"I have been involved with Sound City since November 2008 and have been a key member of the team working alongside Dave Pichilingi to grow Sound City into the internationally renowned music event it has now become.
With a background in sales, working for prestigious publishing companies including Conde Nast, Emap and Hachette, I was able to bring my skills in this area to Sound City and work to bring in revenues from industry and trade bodies as well as commercial sponsors and public money.
I have excellent relationships across the UK and international music and creative industries with contacts in export associations, government departments, private companies developed over many years in countries including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK, USA
I am passionate about emerging talent succeeding and one of the favourite parts of my role is overseeing the international and emerging artist programme. I also run the Sound City Entrepreneur Training Programmes, aimed at anyone who has a burning desire to work in the music industry, plus a development programme for 75 digital and creative businesses in the Liverpool City Region.
I am a board member of Merseyside Arts Foundation and the Association of Independent Festivals."
